London-based American jazz singer (and French horn player) Kai Hoffman has performed at venues including the Royal Albert Hall, Ronnie Scott’s Club, the Jazz Café Camden, the Barbican, the Bull’s Head Barnes and numerous smaller venues in the UK and abroad. She has performed with musicians including Jamie Cullum, John Dankworth, Cleo Laine, Phil Woods and comedian Bruce Forsyth (with her own bands, with the National Youth Jazz Orchestra and with major symphony orchestras). Kai studied at the Manhattan School of Music in New York City, the Hochschule für Musik in Cologne, Germany, and the Royal College of Music in London.   

Her band is made up from a pool of top-calibre jazz musicians including pianists Mike Gorman, Clive Dunstall and Kate Williams, bassists Dave Manington, Dave Foster and Nick Pugh, drummers Jim Hart and Ben Reynolds, trumpet players Andy Davies, Robbie Robson and Joe Auckland, and sax players Sam Crockatt, Sam Bullard and Simon Williscroft.  

Kai is currently working on her debut CD with film orchestrator (Harry Potter) and arranger Simon Whiteside.  The album is comprised of jazz standards and original material, all played by the top-calibre line-up of Simon Whiteside, piano, Nick Pugh, bass, Jim Hart, drums, Andres Ticino, percussion, Robbie Robson, trumpet, Sam Crockatt, saxophone, and the SWString Quartet. 

Kai is originally from the beautifully rugged coast of southeastern Massachusetts.
